Eva Merkacheva graduated from Moscow State, faculty of Journalism. Correspondent, then columnist and chief investigator in national political daily MK. Expert in legal issues, criminal investigation and human rights. Visited almost all Russian prisons and covered many " resonance" trails. Published two books of investigations and interviews with imprisoned people. Awarded a Golden Pen of Russia and other professional awards. Participant of Open World program in the US. Member of Human Rights Council of Russia. Member of Russian unit of International Press Institute.
